Who We're Looking For

Summary

We seek students who are prepared to do interdisciplinary work. Our ideal student has a mix of skills, is social media and technology savvy, has a demonstrated ability to understand and employ social theory, has the capacity to do well-grounded applied research, and has a very strong interest in innovating in social contexts. Students entering the program should have some grounding in social science theory and methods, as well as some facility with social media development or management. We look for students who have done well in courses from multiple disciplines and demonstrate that they are prepared to engage in rigorous research, writing, and design and the graduate level.
