What We Offer

Summary

Through the lens of race, gender, and sexuality, the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling* program at Agnes Scott is distinct for this intersectional methodology. Graduate students who complete our program will benefit from an enhanced ability to work with individuals, groups, and communities representing diverse populations and to deliver ethical and culturally responsive mental health services. This counseling program will provide graduates with the necessary skills to offer mental health services to individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, graduates will be prepared to provide counseling services relevant for families, couples, and groups with a wide range of clinical concerns. This program offers a flexible schedule to accommodate working professionals, with class meetings in the evenings on Agnes Scott's campus. Students complete the program in five semesters (22 months) of full-time study. *Pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Our Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is looking for students hoping to find an intersectional approach to delivering ethical and culturally-responsive mental health counseling services to individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults. Graduates of this program will be prepared to sit for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure exam.
